One of the topics we find ourselves thinking about and working on the most is rhythm. How do you feel the groove from the deepest part of your body? How can you make it feel natural, and how can you perceive a simple, consistent beat from various perspectives? We’ll introduce some practical exercises that open up a vast world of rhythm for exploration.

Meets the teachers

Dekel Epstein, composer, saxophonist, pianist. Graduated jazz music first degree in JAMD, Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, at the Jazz Department. In addition 2 years studies in CJS, “Shtriker Jazz Program” in Tel Aviv for excellent jazz players in collaboration with the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music NY. Founded Sandia band, which plays Jazz-Fusion original music. The band won first prize in the 7 virtual jazz club contest and performing in Europe. Has additional experience in various genres including classical piano training, saxophone hip-hop and electronic music.

Shauli Shoub, began his classical piano journey at the age of six. Over the next eight years, he garnered numerous accolades, winning competitions and captivating audiences on television and in prestigious venues such as the Habima Theater and the Israeli Embassy in the Netherlands. At the age of fourteen, Shauli shifted his focus to jazz piano, immersing himself in the genre. Four years later, he joined the renowned band Sandia. His musical pursuits extend beyond the piano, as he also studies multiple instruments, singing, and the technical aspects of music production, including mixing and mastering.
