
Libero Farnè (Italy)
Libero Farné has been steadily writing for the Musica Jazz monthly magazine since 1978. He has also been writing for other magazines such as Il Giornale della Musica, Ritmo, Fare musica, Mongolfiera, Il Manifesto, Provincia and, starting from 2004, he has been writing on the online magazine All About Jazz Italy.
He has been part of the polyphonic choir of the Bologna University until 1973, when he performed Luciano Boerio's Laborintus II at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna.
He joined the Servizio Cultura of Emilia Romagna (Italy) in 1982, taking care of cultural goods and becoming head of the Ufficio Spettacolo in the 90s.
He is the author of "Vedere il jazz" (Seeing Jazz), 1982; co-author together with Piero Mioli of "La Musica nella storia" (The music within history), 1989.
He personally curated "La Musica e la danza in Emilia Romagna" (Music and Dance in Emilia Romagna) for ATER (Associazione Teatri dell'Emilia Romagna) in 2003 and he is one of the writers of "Jazz in Emilia Romagna", published in 2005.
He contributed to the writing of programmes and publications for several festivals (Angelica, Vignola, Bolzano, Vicenza...). He has also been the organizer of concerts, festivals and workshops. Throughout the years, he has been collaborating with Italy's most important radio and TV network RAI.
He is an Architecture graduate who worked as a professional in the field of urbanistic, has written articles on Casabella and Modo and organized seven art exhibitions with his own works.
