Kodi Hutchinson (Canada)

Known as the host of CKUA’s ‘A Time for Jazz’, Kodi also heads award-winning record label, Chronograph Records, featuring top jazz musicians strictly from Western Canada. One of the most active professional musicians in the Western Canadian scene, award-winning double bassist Kodi Hutchinson is all things jazz!

Kodi has also come more into the international spotlight through his award-winning jazz group The Hutchinson Andrew Trio, winners of the Grand Jazz Award at the Montreal Jazz Festival (very rarely given to Western Canadians).

With a strong work ethic, wide musical knowledge base and expertise in traditional and contemporary jazz, Kodi has become a trusted voice outside of Toronto/Montreal for producing albums of the highest quality that excel internationally. He produced two JUNO and WCMA nominated albums for trumpeter Al Muirhead, as well as his subsequent YYC Music Award winning albums. The latest project for Al Muirhead debuted to radio at #1 in Canada and #3 in the US. The project he co-produced for jazz vocalist Johanna Sillanpaa hit #1 in Canadian jazz. Projects for the Prime Time Big Band (traditional) and Keith O’Rourke (contemporary) continue to hit the airwaves and charts across North America.
