Bobby Sanabria – Vox Humana
A lot of energy and good music is what Maestro Bobby Sanabria and the Multiverse Big Band brings in their most recent production “Vox Humana”.
This album highlights the vocals within the concept of a Big Band with exquisite performances by Janis Siegel, Antoinette Montague and Jennifer Jade Ledesna.
The conguero Oreste Abrantes sings on two of the songs, “Puerto Rico” and “Mi Congo”. The diversity of the repertoire includes masterful arrangements of “Genie in a Bottle” (Cristina Aguilera), “Puerto Rico” and “Mi Congo” (Eddie Palmieri), “Caravan” (Juan Tizol), Capullito de Alelí (Rafael Hernández) and the Brazilian classic “Amazonas”.
Vox Humana, nominated for a Grammy in the Latin Jazz category, was recorded live in New York, at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola with a group of musicians representing the best of the jazz scene, and of course directed by Maestro Bobby Sanabria .
