Arthur Satyan (Armenia)

Armenia-born jazz pianist, composer and educator. In the early 90's, Arthur developed into the city's top piano man, working with all kinds of combos and big bands, at same time earning his "Master of Composition" Degree from Yerevan State Conservatory of  Music. Arthur was invited to Lebanon in 1996 for the opening of the biggest casino in the Middle East "Casino Du Liban". Two years later, he was appointed to the faculty of the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music in Beirut.

 Professor of Piano, Founder and currently the Dean of Jazz Department at the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music since 1998, he taught, influenced and inspired almost every young jazz musician in the region.
 Arthur has performed and worked with many jazz masters such as Larry Coryell, Charles Davis, Ray Vega, Ed Cherry, Joe Lee Wilson, Melissa Walker, Joe Louis Walker, Deborah Davis, just to name few.
The quality of Arthur's arrangements, compositions and piano playing has raised eyebrows among visiting stars he jammed with: Ahmad Jamal, Zakir Hussain, Steve Potts, Stefano di Battista, Arturo Sandoval, etc...
Multi-award winner of numerous classical and jazz competitions, Satyan wrote music for dozen theater plays, TV jingles, films, classical orchestras and jazz big bands. Released three albums ‘Art for Art’s sake’ (2003),  ‘ARTology’ (2013) and ‘Playing Around’ (2020) and currently working on two more albums.
