Global Online Competition for Jazz Musicians - 3rd Edition

Article 1 The Competition
The "7 Virtual Jazz Club\'s Contest" will be hosted on the website www.7virtualjazzclub.net
Article 2 Who can participate?
The contest is opened to jazz students, amateur or professional jazz groups or soloists of all ages worldwide. Those who, at the time of entry are under 18 years old, must submit a form signed by a parent, parental authority or legal guardian to register.
Article 3 Prizes and Awards
Pros & Amateurs Category
Jury Prize: € 2,000 + advertising to the best musician (soloist/band)
Under 25 Students Category
Jury Prize: € 700 to best young jazz Under 25 student
Prize offered by Taklit: an opportunity to meet with Taklit, present a personal project, for consideration, and benefit from professional guidance for future career development
All the musicians
Web Community Prize: € 500 + advertising to the most voted musician by the web community (on YouTube)
Their music will also be promoted through the 7 Virtual Jazz Club platform and socials.
Article 4 Entries
Participants can enter the competition by now. 7 Virtual Jazz Club reserves the right to change these dates if necessary, by giving notice at www.7virtualjazzclub.net
How to register:
1) Access the Apply now page and complete the participation form;
2) Pay the registration fee:
Pros&Amateurs category: the entry fee is € 40 (€ 20 euros for the second video and all the other videos)
Under25 students category: the entry fee is € 10 for any video.
3) Payment methods:
PAYPAL or BANK TRANSFER (7 Virtual Jazz Club Association - IBAN: IT53L0335901600100000142788 - BIC: BCITITMX)
4) Upload your video performance on the website. Please note that your video must be no more than seven minutes and no larger than 2 GB. We will accept the following file formats: avi, mov, mpeg, mp4.
Article 5 Video Rules
Videos may be up to, but cannot exceed 7 minutes in length. Performances must be recorded live. Performances may be recorded on any device, but no cuts or edits are allowed. Pre-recorded backing tracks are only allowed to augment live performance. i.e. performances cannot consist entirely of backing tracks. If the live performance requires additional backing tracks to complete the full arrangement - that is allowed. Soloists may perform solo or with a live band.
Video quality is not part of the judging. It is important, however, that the audio quality is sufficient enough to allow the judges to clearly hear the performance.
Article 6 The competition will be held in three rounds:
1. Preselections and Jury Prize (Pros and amateurs)
The video entries will be divided into randomly selected groups. Each group will be assigned to three members of the international judging panel whom will score the video with these criteria:
- improvisational quality;
- interplay between the musicians (for group performances).
The top-graded 70 videos will make it through the next round and will be presented "LIVE" on the 7 Virtual Jazz Club platform.
Each judge will watch the 10 best videos (the best two videos of each group of judges) and will rank them. The winner will be decided. The cash prize will be awarded to the winner (€ 2,000).
2. Live performance and Web Community Prize
The best 70 videos will be posted in the 7 rooms of the 7 Virtual Jazz Club (10 videos per room). The video performances will remain visible for 30 days along. The web community will then have the opportunity to score the videos on YouTube, by liking or unliking the videos. Each voter may rate a video only once. By the end of this round, the web community prize (€ 500) will be assigned to the performance that got the highest vote during the live section.
3. Jury Prize for Under 25 Students
The top-graded 10 jazz Under 25 students\' videos will be presented "LIVE" on the 7 Virtual Jazz Club platform. Each judge will rank them and the winner will be decided. The cash prize will be awarded to the winner (€ 700).
4. Prize offered by Taklit Under 25 Students
An opportunity to meet with Taklit, present a personal project, for consideration, and benefit from professional guidance for future career development.
Article 7 Public voting
The voters will need to have a Google or YouTube account in order to vote.
Article 8 Responsibility
According to Italian law, any participant in the competition waives the organization from all direct and indirect responsibility.
Article 9 Confirmation of registration
The organization will communicate confirmation of registration via automatic email. Confirmation of registration does not confirm inclusion in the contest. For some reason a submission is deemed to be not eligible.
Article 10 Delays and incorrect completion of the registration form
7 Virtual Jazz Club does not assume responsibility for delays due to external factors, telematic issues, etc. The material will not be returned under any circumstances. In instances where the online form is incorrectly completed, the 7 Virtual Jazz Club has the right to consider the registration form invalid.
Article 11 Consent to the processing of personal data
Participation in the 2nd online international competition for jazz musicians involves the issuance of consent to the processing of personal data, as provided under Italian Law 675/96 "Protection of people and other subjects regarding the processing of personal data" and subsequent amendment with Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 "Code regarding the protection of personal data," for the conduct and management of the competition. By submitting the requested material, the competitor authorizes the use of it by 7 Virtual Jazz Club. Personal information will not be shared with third parties in any way.
Article 12 Other uses of the material sent for promotional purposes
Completed registration and acceptance of this Regulation, requires the artists grant purposes of the competition and any publicity tied to it.
Article 13 Jurisdiction
Any legal dispute arising from the interpretation of these terms and regulations comes under the exclusive jurisdiction of the court of Ferrara, Italy.
